essential oils // tiff's tips

Oh Joy. Joy Joy Joy. I love Joy.

The boys and I went to Target this morning and we were checking out when a young girl said "what perfume are you wearing? It smells so good." Little did she know I haven't showered in three days (why am I blogging instead of showering?) and I've changed approximately 14 diapers in the last 24 hours. Maybe she was delirious. Or maybe she really did smell my perfume instead of sweat and dirty diapers. If the latter is correct, then I feel I must share with you this easy peasy DIY perfume that is extremely budget friendly PLUS it has health benefits in addition to smelling good.

JOY is an oil blend that contains Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Lemon, Coriander, Tangerine, Jasmine, Roman chamomile, Palmarosa and Rose. So basically all the good ones.

JOY costs around $42 and contains 290 drops of essential oil (15 ml bottle). I typically just wear one drop on my wrists and rub over my heart, as it has a very strong floral smell. That means my $42 perfume will last me 290 days. PRAISE.

JOY is said to bring togetherness and joy to your life and invites a sense of romance, bliss and warmth. Did you read that little part above regarding 14 diapers and 0 showers? I need all the "romance and bliss" I can get.

If you prefer to make a roller bottle for your perfume, I simply put somewhere between 30-50 drops of essential oil in a 10 ml roller bottle and fill up with fractionated coconut oil and wa-la! A simple perfume roller for easy application and transportation. Plus you can customize your scent by using any of your favorite essential oils (I also love Stress Away blend for a perfume). The sky is the limit! Or Young Living's stock is the limit. But you know what I mean.

Now go forth and bring joy to you and others!
Just like that sweet Target gal who said I smelled like flowers instead of poop.
So extremely kind of her.
