sneak peek

The nursery.
It's a funny thing. The kid won't give a hoot about what this room looks like. It doesn't matter what color the walls are or if all the furniture matches perfectly. And yet (and hopefully I'm not alone here) there is just something about a nursery. You want it to be absolutely perfect when your baby arrives. Especially your first baby.

I wouldn't call it nesting just yet. You should see the rest of our house. It's a disaster. Dog hair everywhere. Dust bunnies floating around like they own the place. The casa is a complete mess.

Oh but I have more important things to do. Like sit in my rocking chair in this little room, dreaming about the day I meet our baby boy. So, that's what I do. I spend way more time than I should just hanging out in this special room. And I spend way more money than I should on silly things that this boy won't give a hoot about. But, I guess that's just the mom in me. Let's just hope baby boy likes bees like his dad does. Otherwise we've got a serious problem.

  4. I love it!!! And I kind of think that most things we do for our kids during the first couple years of their lives aren't really for them... it's for us, the parents. I really want to take Henry to the zoo. He's 3 months old. He won't know what he's looking at. But I really want to. :)

    1. P.S. You are not alone. When I had my first, I was INSANE about the nursery. Everything had to be just perfect. My husband seriously almost left me. :)

  8. Love it! And hush, you don't know what babies think about their nursery. I can for sure see some little baby being like "really, this is all you got? 9 months and this is what i get?" Not yours though :)

  14. Adorable!!! You'll be spending a lot of time in there, so you should enjoy it. I'm sure your son will see the pictures and thinks it's awesome some day too.

The bees are the perfect touch. Not that it matters if strangers on the internet love it, but well, this stranger on the internet LOVES IT!!

  16. I'm so incredibly happy for you. The Baby's room is beautiful. :)

Sigh. I'm going to live vicariously through you, Tiff. My husband and I have been together for 11.5 years, married 5 and while I was only 18 when I met him and my priorities and wants for life were different back then, my stance on children has changed and I've yearned for a baby for awhile now. Not saying I want to get pregnant this very second but having one would be nice, you know?? Well, last night, while arguing I once again asked him.. Because he always shrugs it off but never will give me a direct answer. I now know that I'm never going to have his babies...And I'm devastated. We're not in a position to have one anytime soon but I never wanted to nix the idea entirely ..I don't want to be that person that when I get to my 40s, when I'm unable to have a child, that I long for one and it's too late. Perhaps it's my being an only child, too, or just wanting a little person to love and adore and have them love me unconditionally. So this is either something I have to come to terms with or I have to move on....But I guess I'm just grieving at the loss of never knowing what it'll be like to be a mom, to have a living being growing inside..... I'm so sad today.. I just needed to get that off my chest.... Thanks for letting me vent Tiffany xo

  17. I guess I now have permission to fill my house with dogs since I can't have babies, which isn't so bad..... If I wasn't before, I'll be the crazy dog lady from here on out :)

  21. The bees are just precious. I love the color scheme. I can't wait to see it entirely. You know it's funny because I made sure all three of my kids had perfect nursery's but yet they never even slept in them. I guess it was silly but it made me feel better :)
