excuses excuses

The one picture I took in the past 14 days.
That has to be some kind of crazy record for me.

So the last time we talked was ... I'm too embarrassed to say. So I wanted to let you know what's been going on. Sherman ate my phone. Yep, it's true. Swallowed that thing whole. So this is why I haven't been hanging out on Twitter or posting fabulous ridiculous pictures on Instagram. Oh, this doesn't explain the lack of blogging huh? Well, he ate my computer too.

Ok, so I'm kidding. I can't blame the dog. Lately I've been a little preoccupied. So preoccupied that Dan so kindly reminded me this past Saturday that it's been four weeks since I've cleaned the bathroom, which usually gets a good Clorox rub down at least twice a week. Sad. But true.

As much as I love trying to "do it all" (except for cooking- I never try to do that) these past few weeks have been good for me. I've learned a few things. I learned that it's okay to leave dirty dishes in the sink (I seriously didn't know a person could survive). It's okay to take a Sunday afternoon nap just because. It's okay to eat French silk pie in the morning if that's what sounds good. It's okay to take a break from blogging {question mark} and it's okay to explain things later. It's okay to put away your camera. And your phone. And your computer. It's okay to ask your husband to wear his shirts twice before turning them over to the laundry basket (seriously. how do boys go through so many shirts??). It's okay to be upset about having to work weekends. And it's even okay to have excuses every now and then.

So, here's to a new day. To less work and more fun. To clearing our heads and hopefully (for Dan's sake) cleaning our houses. And no more excuses. Well, except for my excuse for just consuming that very healthy, very large sprinkle cake donut that I accidentally bought. I'm still working on a good excuse for that. In all seriousness though, I'm not sure what the next couple of weeks will bring in terms of blogging. But please know that I'm doing a-ok. And thank you so very much for your thoughtful emails and tweets. You all check on me more than my mom.
I like it. :)

  17. Um...HOW did you figure that one out? Was his stomach ringing?! DID IT?! That would be scary and awesome at the same time! Or did you find out the hard way?? (You know..poop!)

Just yesterday I thought..why is she not posting on Instagram! I check that more often than my blog..oops!

You're so right, ITS OK! Ive had to learn that with a baby...HE is more important than so many other things I think I need to do. I just have to learn to give up being a control freak!

and I TOTALLY agree..WHY do boys have SO much more laundry?! Im doing laundry this morning and 90% of it is HIS?! Gah!

    Have a HAPPY day!

  19. You always have the best worst dog stories! Can't say that my dog's ever eaten my phone - the most she's done is chew on a zipper. She didn't even swallow it, just a little chew.
(Maybe that's why she doesn't have a boyfriend... Too far? Eh way too far.)

But moving awkwardly along, it's so great that you've taken time out for yourself lately and realized what's truly important! (Doughnuts, of course) I'm envious, as I know I need to try hard to do the same and just put the crap away every now and then. Cheers to being more laid back! :)

  21. This one time a few weeks ago I sent you a text, and I said "I miss the shit out of you."

and you never responded, I figured I offended you by saying shit.

    regardless, I miss you.

  30. I was thinking to myself yesterday: I haven't seen Tiff on here in a while??!!

    Sometimes, life happens.
    I KNOW!!

Other times, I just don't know what to write.

AND THEN, there are the times where your dog eats your phone.

Totally agree with the no cooking thing...think we should start an "anti-cooking movement"? My cooking comes attached with a "WARNING" sign :). Glad to see your back <3! Gotta take time for YOU ahead of anything! Max sends giant hugs and licks to you! Me too but ehemm...just the hugs and no baked goods (after all I DO like ya!)
