my toes are numb

Dan is sleeping.
Sherman is sleeping.
And I am cuddled up by my space heater, trying to warm my toes. I'm not sure if it's because I played in the snow for 4 hours yesterday with Sherm (who knew dogs could build snowmen?) or if it's because Dan turns off the heat at night so currently it is 49 degrees in our home. But either way, my toes are a lovely shade of lavender. So I really just wanted to drop by and post these three Instagram pics because sometimes those teeny tiny square pictures that I literally have to squint to see on my phone are just not enough. And it may or may not be 5am on a Saturday morning. If this post doesn't scream "I'm getting old" ... I don't know what does.

  6. I thought 5am on Saturdays only existed if you hadn't been to bed yet, or you were going on some spectacular adventure. I had no idea it exists on a regular basis for some people.

And you have some serious talent for capturing beauty. You and my dad are both really, really, really good at this, and I am absolutely humbled by it.

  8. Oh goodness, my boots don't keep my toes warm either. I was out last night in Seattle (where it's currently not snowing) and even then my toes froze right through my wool socks! Get warm!

    Take care,
    Katie

  9. Gorgeous pictures! Hope your toes warm up quickly.
We're supposed to get a bunch of snow this weekend so I'm sure I'll be out playing in it with my son only to come back in with freezing toes.
    Have a great weekend!

  13. Now I just cannot wait for winter in our part of the world! We'll be going on a family holiday with our little nieces who have never experienced snow before. I love Autumn but part of me is wishing we can skip straight through to winter!

  19. Beautiful photos, as always. :) As much as I love snow, I'm kind of ready for it to be gone. I heard today, though, that STL is supposed to get another snow storm Mon-Tues. Sigh.

  21. Aw, I'm so jealous of that snow! It looks absolutely amazing and like so much fun. As an American living in Australian Summer at the moment, I am so envious of some real winter with some cool weather.
