Nope, not Christmas.
My birthday.
But you know what? This year it's different. Maybe because I have akid dog. Or maybe because I realize more and more every year how lucky I am to have somehow tricked Dan in to marrying me (how did I do that?!). Or maybe it's simply because I'm getting old. But I truly feel different about my birthday this year. I didn't even ask for any gifts. *gasp* Usually I present to Dan an entire notebook full of ideas because I love "free" stuff. Even though we share a bank account, it still feels like free stuff when it comes from your significant other, ya know?
So anyway, back to gifts. Anyone who has ever known me knows that I love gifts. Put a box in front of me (it doesn't even have to be wrapped) and I will giggle like a little girl and jump up and down and scream until you let me open it.
Sadly, I am not exaggerating.
But again, this year it's just a little different. Not exactly sure why.
It just is.
So, instead of asking for diamonds or a new car (yeah right- on both of those) ...
I thought I'd give instead of receive. I've been thinking about my furry friends a lot lately. I know. Shocking. I have also thought about all of my blogging friends a lot lately too. Amazing people who have helped me donate almost $500 to the animals over at Playa Animal Rescue in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Sponsors, readers, all of you. It's been a blast. And I am truly thankful.
So, because you all have been so generous, I thought I'd give a little something out of my own pocket today. But I'll need your help (don't you just love these games?). My little birthday game is this:
I will donate $1 per every one comment that is left on this blog post to PAR ...
Oh but don't think I don't know what you're thinking ...
I will donate $1 per every one comment {up to $100}.
Phew. That was close.
You can say "happy birthday" or "you are my best friend" or "I love Sherman" or "you are nuts- keep your money and go to Target".
Just follow your heart.
We'll see if I get to $5.
Oh and if I do only get to $5 ... feel free to comment more than once to make me feel better. I know that's cheating, but it's my party and I'll make up the rules if I want to. ;)

ReplyDeleteSherman looks adorable patiently looking at the cupcake in your hand. My boys are like vultures if you're not careful.
