this last weekend was worlds of fun (sorry. had to.)

So Dan and I finally decided it was time to act like two responsible adults and ... nope, not have a kid. Borrow a kid {it's so much easier to borrow}. We decided to take our eldest nephew on a little uncle/auntie/nephew outing.

Worlds of Fun is one of my favorite places to go. Ever.
Remember my little jumping out of a plane adventure? I loooove roller coasters. The bigger. The faster. The scarier. The better. So of course when Dan asked me where I thought Kemper wanted to go, I yelled "Worlds of Fun!".
Really. I did.
Taking a 6 year old to a crazy fun amusement park with tons of crazy fun
roller coasters that make your stomach jump out of your stomach and make you scream like a little girl is So Much Fun.

Until you find out that said 6 year old doesn't want to ride any big roller coasters.
Zero.
Zilch.
Nada.
So we went to Planet Snoopy instead.
Planet Snoopy was almost as exciting as riding the big roller coasters.
Almost.
At least someone was happy. ;)
And then we decided that we should take a celebratory picture for making it through a ginormous amusement park without losing our nephew.

And it was at this time ... while taking our picture ...
that we almost lost our nephew. ;)

  2. Can't agree with you about the skydiving thing, but I'm totally with you on the roller coasters.
    Bigger + faster = better!

  3. Oh man, I'm a total sucker for Worlds of Fun... I still haven't gone yet this year, which is a bummer, but hopefully I can make it out there before it gets too cold (what on Earth is up with this cold front??)

Anyways, it looks like y'all had a blast, and I'm glad you didn't lose Kemper!

  9. Usually if you lose a kid you find him where the giant cotton candy and snow cones are located. Just a side note for next time.

  16. That is so fun you got to borrow the baby for a bit. (Aren't all nephews and neices always babies no matter what age they are?)I can't wait until I can take Olivia to fun places and interact with her. Your amusement park looks just like one near me called Knott's Berry Farm. Dan was a good sport to take some pictures for your blog for me. I can just imagine Sean taking pictures while on the ferris wheel... it probably wouldn't happen. Nice job on not losing the kid or injuring him.

  19. Borrowing kids is great, you can have all the fun with them and then pass them back at the end of the day/weekend. It's a shame you didn't make it to the big rollercoasters, but your nephew looks so happy!

  21. i think borrowing a kid every once in awhile is a good thing to do easier and cheaper than having your own and almost as great :-) plus you get to spoil him and then hand him back over at the end of the day, win for the parents because they get a break and then win for you because you aren't 100% for raising him

  22. I LOVE WOF! My mom got so mad at me the year I rode the Timberwolf after the silly girl stood up on it and fell out. Who does that?! Have you done the Rip Cord?

  26. I love roller coasters, but I get sick now. Sick Tiff. Sick. Sick. Sick.

    It's devastating.

P.S. I was in Home Depot tonight (horrible) and this guy smiled at me, as if he knew me. And when he walked away I thought, "holy shit, that was Dan." I knew it wasn't but still. I almost text you, but I was very busy playing Doodle Jump.

  28. Your nephew and I are in the same boat. No more big fast roller coasters for me...I can get sick just thinking about it. I am such a wuss. Looks like a super fun day :)

  29. If I come visit, I'll go on all of the big scary roller coasters with you. I'll even pretend to be your overly tall, overly developed pre-teen niece. I'll start working on the zit-face now, so that I'm properly prepared.

I gotta say though, Planet Snoopy looks pretty rockin'... and that pretzel is bigger than Kemper's head!

  30. LOL! The bottom photo would only have been better if your nephew had been visible in the background getting into trouble/wandering off. :P

But I am glad you managed not to lose him.. :)
