our digs: where I blog

It's a simple room.
Simple just like every other room in our house.
Little desk {big chair}, little shelves, little pictures.
One little computer.
And one little blog.

BEFORE ...

DURING ...

AFTER ...
This one never gets old.
"before ... after"
"before ... after"
"before ... after"
Dan and I bought this picture in Hawaii  ...
while there for my sister's wedding back in 2007.
Oh man was that a fun trip.
We used to have pillows on this ottoman.
I'll give you one guess as to what happened to those pillows ...
or you can just read about it HERE.
Another "travel" picture.
This one from Mexico. A fun little trip back in 2008.
Our trip to Utila in 2011.
And down this little hallway ...
the bathroom and two bedrooms.

What we did:
  • Knocked out ugly brown wall/bookshelf thingy between office and sunroom and replaced with windows.
  • Painted ugly brown walls a very light (and bright) blue
  • Painted trim
  • Removed weird cowboy doors from office.
  • Paint, paint and some more paint. It took a lot to make this dark room light again.
  • Hallway: Removed old attic fan ... patched/mudded/sanded/painted. Replaced light and painted trim.

  19. What paint color did you use? We are in the process of painting an upstairs attic space that is all wood paneling. I really like that color!

  21. Why am I starting to feel like you have 1000 rooms in your house? And how have you literally flipped every one of them? And why do you not have a show on HGTV yet? And why is your husband so good at this stuff? I think that's all my questions for now. I guess I have one more, why do I have to wait until January 2017 to be a sponsor on your page? Get more spots. Thanks.

  27. I'm mourning the loss of the ottoman pillows for you.

If someone ate my ottoman pillows, I would be pissed as shit.

  29. I love your house. It is so cute! Quick question... is your house always this clean? Because it seems immaculate. I'm really just looking for approval for my house to be a little messy.

  30. I love all the pictures you have up. But I could never leave a room that uncluttered! Also, I love that photo of Dan where you can just see his head...kind of looks like he's being slowly trapped behind those shelves!

  31. I love a simple, clean room. I wish I could create a little blogging nook. Stupid 2 bedroom apartments.

  32. I love your collection of travel pictures. Why don't I buy art when I travel? I end up with random odds and ends that I never use instead. I'm changing that habit starting...now! (thanks to you)
