you have a party ... in a barn

Just in case you want to have your birthday party in a barn like husband did, this is what you'll need:

One big red barn.
Lots of family and friends.
Kids are welcome {encouraged}.
A golf cart + a few scooters.
An air hockey table.
One snow cone machine (this is why you need the kids ... they make the best snow cones. But bring change, they will ask for money).
Lots of food.
Several coolers.
Nine dogs.

And a sunset like no other.

  5. oh i LOVE the pictures you took! when i look at them i feel like i was there and didn't miss out. looks like it was a good time! can't believe my dad finally got the entire barn dry-walled.
    and i have to comment on the pics of dean, c & b. love those.

    and harpo's socks w/ sandals? what am i going to do with him?

  7. Oh yeah. That's our kind of party! Kids, dogs, family, friends, and of course...the country. Love the pic of the scooter with the "Sturgis" tag! You know, I'm a wanna-be biker chic. I have asked for a Harley for my 50th b-day next month.

  20. Such great photos. haha snow cone machine, love it. I used to line up all my halloween candy with price post-its under them and when I got home from school there'd be quarters instead of snickers. Kids like money! And Sherman looks so happy!

  21. Totally random, but your husband has ALWAYS reminded me of someone... and it just came to me who it is! Ed from the Bachlorette. {don't slap me if you hate him! :)} Everytime I would see a picture of him, I would think he looked so familiar and it just hit me this morning! Ha! Like I said... totally ramdon!

    When a guy comes home from serving overseas, and his friends and family surprise him with a party.

    And it's in a barn.

    I fuggin love that commercial. And I love this barn party, too.

  55. aww this post was too cute. I love the "ingredients" for a good time :) My friends were married in a barn in Michigan and it was just beautiful!!!
