And this is what we saw ...

Four large drinks.
Ok, so this wasn't actually my drink.
I just wanted to see if I could pick it up.
Ok, so this wasn't actually my drink.
I just wanted to see if I could pick it up.

One gigantic pretzel.
This was my pretzel.
This was my pretzel.

A million smiley faces.
I really want to know who lives here.
I really want to know who lives here.

A couple of chickens.
I would like to know who these people are too.

I shouldn't have to tell you guys how much I loved this one.
I could have stayed here with Bandit all day long.
But I didn't ...

because someone needed to get home and go to bed.
Party pooper.
Party pooper.
Gosh I love this city.
Haha party pooper is right! I love that dog's story!
ReplyDeleteI want chickens too!! apparently "urban farming" is getting big. it's THE THING to do now in brooklyn. i'm just worried that some giant NYC rat will come and pester/eat my chickens (or just BE in the back yard and scare me so much i won't step foot in the back yard again!!)
ReplyDeletecheers to chicago! i agree... i love that city too ;)
As you prob read on my blog, there were chickens in the empty lot behind my apartment in Manhattan. Such a weird thing. Oh and that party pooper is the cutest party pooper I've ever seen!!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! I so wanna meet the people who live in that smiley house... I bet they are rulllllll interesting! Looks like you had a nice little stroll around a really fun city!! Darn that little cutie pie party pooper! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love the dog and his letter! I can just imagine the poor owner and uppity people making complaints that the dog is being mistreated. Good on them!
ReplyDeletethat letter is awesome. i love walks through our city too you get to see so beautiful parts you didn't know about!
ReplyDeletei LVOE the beware of chickens sign! LOL!
ReplyDeleteFun! I've always wanted to visit Chicago!!!
ReplyDeletei want to visit Chicago so badly! love the pictures you took!

Oh Chicago, you are my fave. I grew up an hour and a half away from Chi-town and now am only able to visit every once in a while now which is a sad thing. Actually, last time I got to visit was Thanksgiving weekend, and I got engaged in the middle of the gardens in Millennium Park. Good times.
ReplyDeletethis is awesome! such a fun idea to walk around and take pictures! hope you have a great time with your sister, and that cutie little chubster :)
ReplyDeleteYou certainly do run into some of the most interesting things. And really... who has chickens in the city? And even if you do, WHY the beware sign?!
ReplyDeleteBeware of chickens....those suckers can be MEAN!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I saw a glimpse of Chicago on the Bachelorette last night & I never knew the city was that gorgeous! It is definitely going on my must go to list.
That dog story was adorable. Made me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteThat dog letter is awesome!! Great photos. I really want to go to Chicago!! And the party pooper is adorable, Glad you are having fun!!
ReplyDeleteThat dog story is so cute! I'm so jealous that you are in Chicago. I hope you are having fun!
ReplyDeleteI have only been to Chicago once, but I loved it! I can't wait to go back! Hope you enjoy your time there.
ReplyDeleteChicago is honestly my favorite place on earth i've decided. Lol, I guess maybe I'm just easy to please?

We have that bar here in Cincy and I can hardly pick them up either. And after drinking one of those monstrosities, it makes it really hard to pick one up.
ReplyDeleteAwww, looks like you guys had such a great day! Loved the pic of Bandit and his story.. too cute!
ReplyDeleteThe smiley faces are kinda creepy. The dog is super cute. The pretzel AND drink were huge.
ReplyDeleteAnd the chicken sign...just awesome.
I've been to Chicago once and long to go back everyday! Looks like a great wealk in my opinion :)
Check out your pipes in that pic where you are holding that giant beer, love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that dog story. Sometimes people with the best intentions cause the most harm...
You could have loaded the Bandit in your purse. I don't think anyone would have noticed. Next time I come and a covert operation.
ReplyDeleteAwww what a beautiful dog! I want to lay next to him and sleep all day too! And I'm so jealous you can just head over to Chicago, because I so would live off of Garrett's Caramel Popcorn only. Maybe it's a good thing I live far away from Chicago :)
ReplyDeletethat PRETZEL looks DELICIOUS. would love to know what a Chicago pretzel taste like. I bet they are as great as NYC!
ReplyDeleteFun! That sign by the dog is HILARIOUS.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! I want a pretzel that size! Think they are mail-a-ble? :-) Now my mouth is watering... Looks like you're having a wonderful time there in Chicago Tiff! Oh my gosh, that dog sign. How cute! And how sad that animal control people are wasting their time on a well fed and happy dog, instead of those who have been abandoned and need to find homes. Some people...
ReplyDeleteI love the sign with the dog! Good for his people for taking care of an annoying situation in such a simple way!
ReplyDeleteSo love the dog and sign. What a polite way to let people know their good intentions are a pain in the @$$. And can Jack be any cuter??
ReplyDeleteThat pretzel? Yummy. Now I want a big, salty pretzel.
ReplyDeleteI love Bandit's sign! I often wonder what my neighbors think because our dog LOVES being outside.
ReplyDeletewho on EARTH said that everything is bigger in Texas? let's not forget the windy city where there is never too many disasterous coffee mugs.
ReplyDeletelet's not forget that.
oh man, yesterday elijah turned 1. ONE. and he's in honduras...so so far away from me.
This randomness, the smiles, and the oversize pretzels make me realize that I need to visit Chicago!! Oh, and I think I just fell in love with Bandit!!
ReplyDeleteso cute! love bandit & that little sleeper!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful city! That dog is too adorable. Why the sign? Haha
ReplyDeleteSo you do realize that we are within walking distance of each other don't you?!?! Okay more like a two hour drive, but still. I am fine with two hour drives. I WANT TO MEET YOU LIKE YESTERDAY.
ReplyDeleteI am totally going to be in Chicago next weekend. For the blogger meet up that Taylor and I forgot to invite you to (because why in the world would I think you go to Chicago every other day).
So yeah. When can we make this whole meeting thing happen? I'll bring the wine. We all know you need it (lush).
Kidding. It's all me. I am the lush.
I love Chicago! Don't lie, that totally was your drink! :)
ReplyDeletehaha how funny that note with Bandit. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteA. I need that pretzel stat.
ReplyDeleteB. If you picked up that mug with as much ease as I think you did, you're a boss.
C. Take Sherms to meet that dog so they can be bff.
My sister is the one that is probably calling Animal Control on the siberian husky. She does that kind of stuff. Its good the owners put up his story. You can't be mad at people for being concerned about the well being of the dog.
ReplyDeleteSomeone, however, needs to be concerned about the person living in the smiley face house. That's just plain weird.
I LOVE chicago! I was born in the suburbs and family is still there. I took my hubs 3 years ago and we are gonna go back soon! The pizza, the hot dogs, everything! and that pretzel has me jealous...I was in NYC a few weeks ago and wanted a pretzel but the mean street vendor only took cash urgh
ReplyDeleteAwww! Bandit is adorable. Glad his owners love him. Where do I find him when I go to Chicago? Ha.
ReplyDeleteThe smiley face window is a great idea on how to hide a window convenient to nosy passers-by! I would totally want to hide mine... although I'd be the first to peek in someone else's!
ReplyDeleteLove Bandit's little story. The family clearly takes great care of him, and that's a great way to handle a repetitive irritant, which, while well-meaning initially, someone calling (with animal control obviously finding no wrong-doing!) would become. Thanks for sharing his story!
LOVE the photos! That is one HUGE mug o' beer!
ReplyDeleteso fun. i would really like one of those pretzels right now!
ReplyDeleteThat is THE cutest party pooper ever :) Just found your blog and I'm enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteOh Jack... It's a good thing you're really cute, because you've gotta make up for being the party pooper! Don't worry, I'm pretty sure your Aunt will teach you how to party hard and eat giant pretzels like a champ.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having a great time, love that dog and his story. Happy 4th July
ReplyDeleteI love all the photos you've used, they have such a whimsical feel to them. And I wish I had met Bandit!I could do with a decent pretzel too!
ReplyDeleteLove the Pretzels!!!! I have only ever driven past Chicago when my brother and I decided to drive from New York to California. Two little Australians on an American road trip. But unfortunately we didn't have time to stop there.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that sign by the dog. Perfect. And yay for Chicago, it's by far my favorite city!
ReplyDeleteYou walked by my house! (the smiley face one obviously) why didn't you knock?!
