a walk in chicago

So the other day we decided to take a little walk in the city. 
And this is what we saw ...
Four large drinks.
Ok, so this wasn't actually my drink.
I just wanted to see if I could pick it up.
One gigantic pretzel.
This was my pretzel.
A million smiley faces.
I really want to know who lives here.
A couple of chickens.
I would like to know who these people are too.
One cute dog with one cute story.
I shouldn't have to tell you guys how much I loved this one.
I could have stayed here with Bandit all day long.
But I didn't ...
because someone needed to get home and go to bed.
Party pooper.

Gosh I love this city.

  2. I want chickens too!! apparently "urban farming" is getting big. it's THE THING to do now in brooklyn. i'm just worried that some giant NYC rat will come and pester/eat my chickens (or just BE in the back yard and scare me so much i won't step foot in the back yard again!!)

  3. As you prob read on my blog, there were chickens in the empty lot behind my apartment in Manhattan. Such a weird thing. Oh and that party pooper is the cutest party pooper I've ever seen!!

  15. Oh Chicago, you are my fave. I grew up an hour and a half away from Chi-town and now am only able to visit every once in a while now which is a sad thing. Actually, last time I got to visit was Thanksgiving weekend, and I got engaged in the middle of the gardens in Millennium Park. Good times.

    I have to say I saw a glimpse of Chicago on the Bachelorette last night & I never knew the city was that gorgeous! It is definitely going on my must go to list.

  29. Awww what a beautiful dog! I want to lay next to him and sleep all day too! And I'm so jealous you can just head over to Chicago, because I so would live off of Garrett's Caramel Popcorn only. Maybe it's a good thing I live far away from Chicago :)

  45. My sister is the one that is probably calling Animal Control on the siberian husky. She does that kind of stuff. Its good the owners put up his story. You can't be mad at people for being concerned about the well being of the dog.

    Someone, however, needs to be concerned about the person living in the smiley face house. That's just plain weird.

  46. I LOVE chicago! I was born in the suburbs and family is still there. I took my hubs 3 years ago and we are gonna go back soon! The pizza, the hot dogs, everything! and that pretzel has me jealous...I was in NYC a few weeks ago and wanted a pretzel but the mean street vendor only took cash urgh

  48. The smiley face window is a great idea on how to hide a window convenient to nosy passers-by! I would totally want to hide mine... although I'd be the first to peek in someone else's!

    Love Bandit's little story. The family clearly takes great care of him, and that's a great way to handle a repetitive irritant, which, while well-meaning initially, someone calling (with animal control obviously finding no wrong-doing!) would become. Thanks for sharing his story!

  55. Love the Pretzels!!!! I have only ever driven past Chicago when my brother and I decided to drive from New York to California. Two little Australians on an American road trip. But unfortunately we didn't have time to stop there.
