jack and a hat

hat: old navy, shirt: no clue, necklaces: read HERE, baby: sister
Well, if that wasn't one of my favorite summer vacations ever ... I'm not sure what was. We had an awesome time in Chicago. So awesome that I have even more pictures to show you later. But for now, I want to concentrate on my adorable baby nephew. Oh and my hat.
Why do I have 300 pictures of myself in this hat?
Because I wore this hat for three days straight.
Why did I wear this hat for three days straight?
Well, let's just say that I had a very interesting haircut experience last Saturday, just hours before I flew out to Chicago. And by 'very interesting', I mean 'horrific'. Absolutely horrific. And guess what? You get to hear all about it (trust me, you want to hear about it) ...
but not today.

Today I am going to try to catch up on a little thing I like to call reality. Today I am going to miss my sister and my brother-in-law and my nephew Jack. Today I am going to work super hard and super fast so that I can go home early and spend some quality time with Sherman. Gosh I missed my dog.
Oh and if you're wondering if I missed husband ... nope. Because he went with me to Chicago. And he came home with me to Kansas City.
It's funny how that works.

I sure hope everyone had an awesome 4th of July ... on a Wednesday.
Wednesday! Geeeez.
Come on America, we can do better than that.

  2. If my hair sucked I couldn't look as cute as you in a hat to cover it up...I'd just have to deal with it. You look adorable in your hat regardless of what it looks like underneath (but I'm sure it's not that bad!) Glad you had a great trip!!!

  12. I was wondering how that "i'm thinking about getting my hair cut, cut went.." apparently not well.

That top photo? It's like the greatest picture ever, probably why it's in black and white.

I feel like Jack's eyes just say "my eyes will always be bluer then your blue eyes, sucker.."

I'm so glad you had a wonderful time with your beautiful nephew and your family. Sherman will be soooo happy to see you I'm sure! Whenever I go out of town I miss my dogs terribly, I like it best when I can take a couple of them with me. I look forward to celebrating our 11th anniversary, going on a nice getaway and yes, I will be taking 2 of the dogs with us. Hubby loves it too :) Hope you're having a grrrreat day! oh and almost forgot smooches for the majestic one :)lol

  28. Oh, I thought the hat was because you were in love with it. Looking forward to hearing about the bad haircut. I stick with same girl due to way to many bad haircuts in my early 20's!

    Welcome back from Chicago!

  29. I always wish I could be a hat girl and I totally am not. You look super super cute in that hat! The funny thing is that I was wondering if your sister was married because you never mention her husband and I also wondered if your hubby went with you on the trip because I never saw any pictures of him!
