a recipe for a seventh grader

Hell has frozen over.
Today I'm doing a little guest post. But wait. It's not just any ole' guest post.
It's a cooking guest post. Did ya hear me? Cooking.
Hell has frozen over ... twice.
If hell can do that, it just did. I don't normally say "hell", so this is kind of fun.

Ok, so here's the story. You all know that I don't know a lick about cooking. But, I do love to eat. And I love to take pictures of food. Mainly because I can then look at the pictures and pretend like I'm eating.
So anyways, the lovely Kyna asked me to share a quick and easy recipe on her amazing blog. Well, I have to give her credit ... at least she was smart enough to throw in the "quick and easy" part. But really? A recipe?
Oh Kyna ... you make me laugh.

So last week I told husband this little story.
He laughed too. No, I take that back. He snorted. He actually snorted at me.
And then he said, "Tiff, you should do the recipe that I learned how to make in my seventh grade home ec class." And I said "Dan, that's a great idea!"
He was kidding. I was not.
Allow me to introduce you to ... Peachy Pork Picante.
Tah-Dah!

So, you want this easy peasy recipe now do ya?
Go HERE.

Oh, and you probably want to know if I actually made this or if husband stepped in to save the day.
Ha. I'll give you one guess.
Seventh grade? Are you kidding me?
Why not have them start out with a box of mac and cheese?

  2. What school did he go to? My 7th grade home ec teacher didn't even allow us to use real needles - we used plastic ones. And recipes? Forget about it.

Going to check this one out...

  7. That looks complicated for 7th grade. Shawn recently screwed up a box of mac and cheese. Clearly, they need to teach mac and cheese out of a box cooking in 7th grade. Would have saved me a $1.39. Pshhhh!

  8. Haha. This is awesome. I am 25 years old and still eat mac and cheese for lunch more often than I like to admit. A recipe for a 7th grader? Sounds right up my alley.

  11. I have to admit that this looks really good. I really should venture outside pop tarts, frozen burritos, ez Mac and my crockpot. If only I could find someone to cook and clean for me. Like Alice from the Brady bunch.

  13. Seriously? I'm pretty sure we made salads in home ec class. And we're not talking fancy salads. We're talking lettuce, tomato, and carrots. Looks yummy though!
