floatin' down a river

Well, I'll be taking another little trip ... starting now.
It's summer. You can't blame me.
This time I'll be floatin' down a river ... with husband and lab.
And a cooler.
In a canoe.

Oh man are we excited.
Last time we went canoeing, Sherm was just a little pup and about 40 lbs. Now he's 100+ (yes, he's put on a little summer weight). We'll see how this goes. The Joneses might be in the water more than in the canoe. I have a feeling Sherm will be tipping us over once or twice. Hey, you only live once, right?

So, off to the river we go.
Life is good.
Just don't remind me about that leather couch.
Don't do it. Don't you dare do it.

Ok, I'll do it.
So, I'm still a little mad. But, you know what made me a little less mad?
Seeing this in my gmail account.
Oops.
For a girl who loves her dog as much as I do, these are the last words that should be flooding my inbox.
Sorry, Sherm ... I'm really not going to kill you.
But I may dunk you in the water a few times.
Just to show you who's boss.

  2. UGH!!! I'm so jealous of you. Sounds like a lot of fun!

And I'm sure Sherm knows that you're not REALLY going to kill him! Lol When we first got out chihuahua he chewed up my flip flops! Super pissed off about it. Lol

  4. Floating down a river with your two boys and a cooler sounds like a blast! Salvador ate the carpet in our bedroom (not all of it but a big patch) once and I'm still not over it.

  6. sounds like that is going to be an incredible time!

and we all know how much you're obsessed with your dog, haha. so no worries here that you were actually going to murder Sherm.

but yes, dunking him in the water is fair enough. you are the boss, right? i have to say it a few times just to convince myself but yeah, my dog is the boss. just don't tell her i said that.

have fun canoeing! if you plan to booze cruise yourself down the river, keep it on the DL!! (around me you could lose your driver's license for it!!)

    cheers.

  24. That's funny, before I had finished reading the whole post, I was like, "Gosh, Sherm must be pretty well trained to stay still in a canoe...I would never try it with my crazy pup!" (Chester would be good, and probably too scared to move, but Caroline would be jumping around at every fly that happened by! Ha! I'm sure you'll have a blast~ Sounds like so much fun...as long as the cooler floats, all is well...am I right?! Can't wait to hear about it!

  27. Words cannot express my extreme jealousy.
This is the first year we'll be missing out on our annual summer float trip (maybe the only downfall about living in LA....that, and the lack of frozen custard).
Also...geez, Sherm, you need to start your bikini workouts PRONTO!

  28. Enjoy every second of your canoe trip (and tipping Sherman in). I look forward to hearing all about it :)

  29. Do you have room in that canoe for one more?? I would love to be there instead of here right now. Enjoy! :)

  30. Can I come - I can just float - don't even need a canoe!! Haha!! Have a great time!!

    ReplyDelete

  32. Canoeing!? Summer break?!? Jones - I envy your life. I even envy your dog-eaten leather sofa.

One time I went tubing down a salt river. With a cooler and a beer in my hand. Is that a similar experience? I bet its nicer in a canoe. The salt river was kind of nasty. I heard people peed in there.

  33. Hahah!!! He'll probably enjoy the dunk.

  37. Canoeing sounds so relaxing! If only my 16 month old daughter could sit still, I'd be able to add that to my summer plans, but I don't think that's going to happen. ANd I just saw your last post about your couch. Yikes!
