ready for the weekend

I am sooooo ready for the weekend.
And apparently, so is Jack.

Things I love about this picture:
  • I {obviously} love my sweet baby nephew who lives a hop, skip and a plane ride away from me in the big city of Chicago.
  • I love that Jack looks better in sunglasses than I do.
  • I love that he is giving me the 'whassup Aunt Tiff' look, complimented by the 'check ya later' finger gun point. He's 8 months old. He's cool.
  • I love that Jack's parents are portrayed in the right lens of his glasses. Seriously, are those not proud parents or what? Dad takes the picture while Mom leans in and says, "Jack ... over here, Jack. Look at mommy". I can just hear the goofballs now. Miss you guys.
  • I love that it appears that Jack is about to make his own dinner. Formula to the side; a mixing cup of some sort in hand. Maybe he will start taking cooking classes with Uncle Dan.
  • And finally, I love that I miss Jack so much that it hurts. I don't love the hurting part, but I love loving a boy that much. I love looking at his face and seeing my sister in him. I love looking back at pictures of me holding him when he was much, much smaller. And even though I cannot be with him every day, I love watching him grow and change through silly pictures and thirty second iPhone videos.
Jack, you melt my heart.
I have thought of you and prayed for you every single day since the day you were born. And there's no stopping now.

Ok, gotta run. I'm getting choked up over here.

Happy Friday!

  15. Hi! Just found your blog and I love it already. New follower :) Your dog is beyond funny and I have to admit I've been using the "no babe I promise, dogs are cheap!" to sway my husband. I may have to rethink that :S My parents have a chocolate lab though and I grew up with a black lab so I happen to think you made a great choice on that one! Your wedding photos are gorgeous too lady!! Can't wait to read more!
